Tim - Oasis Gardening 2

Fancy growing your own organic vegetables?

Becoming an Oasis gardening volunteer is about learning and sharing skills, it’s meeting new people, spending time amongst nature in lovely surroundings… and growing your own vegetables.

We get together on Tuesdays, 1.30pm until around 5pm, at our garden based in the peaceful location of Old Fulwood Road, S10 3TH. You can reach us on the 83a or the 120 bus, and there’s ample parking if you’ve got your own vehicle.

We have a vegetable garden and two large polytunnels. This enable us to grow produce all year round and means there’s always work that can be done, come rain or shine. We grow organic produce people can enjoy – such as salads, aubergines, tomatoes and sweet smelling bunches of sweet peas.

We’re always keen to hear from new volunteers, so if you’re interested in finding out more, or coming along to meet us, contact our friendly project manager:

Tim Blundell Jones – oasis@recoveryenterprises.co.uk or 079260 97027.

Does your garden need a spruce up? Is your allotment in need of hedge trimming and tidying?  Could your company grounds do with a facelift?

In addition to the volunteer gardening project, we also have a gardening business where we are employed throughout the west of the city (in Fulwood and surrounding areas) to carry out maintenance work on private gardens, allotments, gardens of student landlords and the grounds of company property.

We can help with everything from the most simple of gardening advice – to tackling overgrown hedges, bramble infested areas, building raised beds and putting up polytunnels.

The business is overseen by our project manager and head gardener Tim, and we employ paid members of staff from our volunteer gardening project, people who are keen to use their new found skills for paid employment.

If you’d like a quote, or want speak to someone about gardening options, contact our project manager:

Here’s what our customers have to say:

“Thanks for the suggestions as to what we can do to improve the garden, and thank you very much for your hard work, everything looks a lot tidier!”
Mr Houston, Crosspool.

“Please thank those who did the work. An excellent job. It would have taken us the whole season to sort out this patch of ground ourselves, but now we can start growing straight away”
T.Baldwin, Highcliffe Allotments.
